Elke Bartholomäus creates artworks in the borderlands between voice and body, space and motion. Their transitions are fluid. Headings such as Composition, Vocals, and Performance/Media are not pigeonholes but perspectives on a body of work that draws on presence and engagement with her material. Her focal point is always an attempt to find precisely the form needed to express the artistic question at hand.
